About the location

Céret is a charming Medieval village south of Perpignan, famous for its art and its artists, its 14th-century stone bridge and a great weekly market.

The village has an old town of narrow streets, many good terrace cafés and restaurants, and a couple of the Medieval defensive entry doorways.
Céret was a flagship town of the Cubist movement, and a favourite haunt of artists.
Picasso, Juan Gris, Léger and Chaïm Soutine enjoyed the southern luminosity of Céret, where the Musée d’Art Moderne can now be found with its collections by Matisse, Picasso, Chagall and Miró.

The picturesque town of Collioure and glorious Mediterranean beaches of Argeles, Canet and St Cyprien all around 30 mins drive.

If you fancy a change of pace and country hop across the border to Spain either to visit the Dali museum and in Figueres or hop on the TGV train there and have a day out in Gerona or even Barcelona.
