CREATIVE FLAT IN CENTRAL LONDON

Charming flat in central London, perfectly situated just off Old Street.

I am an experimental filmmaker and multimedia creative in my 20s - as my colourfully dilapidated flat suggests! I work from home, so I can be flexible with dates. I am open to home exchanges all over the world: particularly in Paris, Rome, Berlin, Budapest, New York, LA, and Atlanta, as these cities are more closely linked to my film work, but I’m very open-minded and would welcome more rural options too.

This is a beautiful space in an old Victorian building. It is humble in comparison to some of what is advertised here... but well-loved, safe, functional, and LGBTQ friendly: a place to reflect, be creative, and an ideal springboard from which to explore the city.

There is both a double bed and a sofa which pulls out to become a small double. The bathroom has a bath and shower. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge/freezer, washing machine, microwave, and toaster, alongside the other usual amenities, and there is a lovely old walnut desk in the sitting room to read and write from.

This is a private first floor flat up one flight of stairs.

There is a cat who lives with me but she will be elsewhere when you are here!

About the location

The flat is extraordinarily well-placed in Zone 1: situated between the old City and the river, and the bustle of Hackney. Simply look at the map. :) There are many magical spots within walking distance... from the Barbican to St Paul`s cathedral. There are also excellent transport links, with reliable buses 4 minutes walk from the flat; Old Street tube station approx. 5 minutes away; and hire bikes nearby.

In terms of food: there is a boulangerie next door, kebab and other fast food options over the road, and a supermarket about a minute away.

Despite proximity to the busyness of London life, this is a relatively peaceful street - highly pedestrianised with mostly cyclists commuting through. The peacefulness is amplified by the wonderful trees nearby in Hoxton square, in Joe White Gardens (which has a tennis court), and at Bunhill cemetery which is home to the grave of William Blake. :)
