Spacious period home in the heart of Deal

Large house with garden from c.a.1800 in the centre of Deal 5 minutes walk from the station and seafront with all amenities close by. We are 2 minutes from Deal High St with its shops, bars and restaurants and lively Saturday market.

The house comfortably sleeps 6 in 2 double and 1 twin bedroom, each with its own ensuite bathroom. There is also a downstairs cloakroom with a shower. The modern kitchen has an island and 4 stools for casual eating and there is also a separate dining room seating up to 8 for more formal meals. The large living room looking out into the garden has two seating areas, one with an open fire and large screen tv for cosy viewing. On the first floor is a second lounge/music room which opens on to a large terrace, perfect for sunbathing.

The Mediterranean styled garden is walled and very sheltered with plenty of garden furniture and a charcoal bbq for al fresco dining. We are next door to a local very friendly pub (which does excellent takeaway pizza by the way) - so you may hear people when out in the garden but not inside the house.

About the location

Deal is a lively seaside town with a vibrant arts and culture scene. There are some lovely restaurants, many pubs and bars often with live music and eclectic shops. It has a long shingle beach very popular throughout the year with swimmers and a pier with a cafe/restaurant with great views. On Saturdays there is a busy open air market selling fresh produce, flowers, coffee and bric a brac. There is also a community theatre, many art galleries and a music and arts festival at the beginning of July. Deal and Walmer Castle with its beautiful gardens are interesting to visit and there are numerous walking trails in the area.
It is easy to get by train or car to many other interesting seaside resorts along the coast (Margate, Broadstairs, Ramsgate, Folkestone) and Canterbury and its cathedral is just 35 minutes by car. Dover port and Eurotunnel 20 and 30 minutes away respectively. London is just 1 hr 30 min by train or car.
