Our home is on a tree-lined street within a 10 minute walk to the Main Street, supermarkets and public transport. Croydon is a leafy outer suburb of Melbourne in the foothills of the Dandenong Ranges.The well protected tree canopy adds to the charm and gives it a small country town atmosphere. We are lucky enough to have regular, express trains into the CBD which take about 45 minutes. We are very well serviced with shops,cafes and restaurants and 10 minutes by car in any direction takes you to larger shopping malls.
We are lucky enough to be about 20 minutes by car from the world renowned Yarra Valley wineries where you can take your choice of high end restaurants to rustic, casual eateries in magnificent countryside.
Another 20 minutes in a different direction sees you in the wonderful Dandenong Ranges National Park, a wonderland of arboretums, colourful gardens, temperate rainforests walking trails and native animals.
The graceful city of Melbourne has often been on the ‘ world’s most liveable cities ‘ list many times and has a vibrant, multicultural heart, to say nothing of its coffee culture.
Of course a little further afield but within driving distance are attractions like the Great Ocean Road, the Penguin Parade of Phillip Island and, for beaches, the Mornington Peninsula.
If you wish to explore even further , just over an hour away, the airport gives you the opportunity to discover other Australian cities.
