Country house near City

My house is a large renovated two storey 4 bedroom house with a big terrace overlooking the hillside and a small garden in the back. It is spacious and comfortable. I can lend you two rooms, since I need space to store my stuff. I am not a collector of stuff, so I like empty space and clean walls. The living room has air conditionning and the whole house has humidity control (Insuflated Mechanical Ventilation, that keeps the house at a constant 40% humidity and 18 centigrade). The location is perfect for me, ten minutes from Lisbon by car (on no traffick days and hours), ten minutes from the beach by highway, straight down to the coast. You will need a car. The place is country quiet. It has one drawback, which you will find everywhere in Lisbon: airplane noise. If you are noise sensitive, especially at night, beware. Otherwise, my place is really nice and well furnished with everything you will need.

About the location

I live on the South Bank of the Tagus (Tejo), on the outskirts of the city of Almada. It means that you will have to cross the bridge to go to Lisbon and to come here. By car, this can be a challenge, so make a note of that. There are buses and trains and ferries and boats to take you to Lisbon. The train takes about 10 minutes, so does the boat that will take you directly downtown. The house is part of a Cooperative, and it has very quiet and helpful neighbours. My surroundings are working class, mostly retired metallurgical workers from the naval shipyards. Almada is an interesting city, with some art galleries and a great tradition of Theatre, but its greatest attraction is Costa da Caparica, 19 km of white sand gorgeous beaches where you can swim and surf all year round. The minimum water temperature is 16 centigrade, 21 in the summer.
