Charming village house with lovely views

My south facing stone built home is a real slice old old time France. With a gorgeous garden and lovely mountain views. The river runs just beyond the garden . There`s views of it from both living rooms and the bedrooms. It`s a delight to fall asleep to it`s sounds.

I`ve deliberately done a minimalist renovation, keeping the feel as it was when first built two hundred years ago.

It`s in a quiet village and feels very secluded.

About the location

Belesta is surrounded by kms worth of walking paths, through forests, along rivers and into the hills. It`s ideal for walkers and bike riders. There`s a cycle path nearby that runs from Lavelanet to mirepoix with lovely scenery. Monts d`olmes ski resort is thirty minutes drive away. Lac montbel is fifteen minutes. Many ruined chateau litter the countryside, Montségur being the closest and most famous.

Several very good local markets at Lavelanet, mirepoix and esperaza. Lots of good restaurants.

Grotte de niaux has the best prehistoric cave art still open to the public and there are many other caves to visit.

Lots for children, including the accrobranche here in the forest. Several great interactive museums nearby. Forge de Pyrène, parc de préhistoire, musée des dinosaures
