Ring O’Bells, an old pub with lots of character in the lovely Somerset countryside

Welcome to our lovely home nestled in the heart of the Somerset Levels in Meare, near the gorgeous town of Glastonbury. The Ring O’Bells has had an interesting history and has enjoyed life as a monastic dwelling, an inn, a pub and now a cosy family - home. It has lots of nooks and crannies and plenty of places to sit and relax.

You will have access to a well-equipped kitchen, dining room, two bathrooms and 3 double bedrooms and also a pool room with a darts’ board. The walled-garden is filled with lots of places to sit and leads to an orchard and vegetable patches. We have a beautiful wooden sauna in the garden with an outdoor shower and bath, which you are welcome to use during your stay. From the bottom of the garden you can find fields galore, the beautiful River Brue and the start of some great walks.

About the location

There are two fantastic RSPB nature reserves in the area, lots of opportunities for cycling (very flat terrain!) and peace in abundance. Within a mile of the house, you will find two pubs and a great honesty shop with lots of food and drink available.

The historical town of Glastonbury is a 6 minute drive away with an array of lovely cafés, restaurants and shops. The climb up Glastonbury Tor is bracing and the views are breathtaking too. Street (12 minute drive away) has lots of high-street shops and there is a cute theatre and cinema there too. Wells, the smallest city in England, is a 15 minute drive away and is beautiful with its impressive cathedral and vibrant high-street. Cheddar Gorge is a 25 minute drive away and there are lots of climbing opportunities.

We are a 35 minute drive from Bristol airport and a 1 hour drive from Bristol and Bath.
