Detached four-bedroom thatched family house in rural Wiltshire village

Our comfortable family home is just over 20 years old but has all the character of a much older property, complete with thatch roof, wood burner and old beams. It offers four double bedrooms, two with double beds, one with twin beds and a baby's cot and one with a double sofa bed. The master bedroom comes with an en-suite bathroom with separate bath and shower. There's also a spacious family bathroom, also with bath and shower.

Downstairs is a family living room, a large open-plan kitchen and dining room that opens onto a private sunlit garden, plus a dog room accessed from the house through the garage. There's off-street parking with space for at least two cars.

About the location

The house is tucked down a quiet private drive in the rural village of Wanborough in Wiltshire, close to the Ridgeway national trail and a wide array of great country walks. It's just a four-minute drive from junction 15 of the M4 and a 15-minute drive from Swindon train station, which has regular, direct trains to London.

The village itself has five local pubs (yes five!), all within walking distance. Our favourite, The New Calley Arms, is the closest and serves great food. The pretty market town of Marlborough (good shopping and restaurants) is just a 15-minute drive away. Other nearby attractions include The Cotswold Wildlife Park, The Cotswold Water Park, the Uffington White Horse, the standing stones of Avebury, Bath, Bristol, Castle Combe and other chocolate-box Cotswold towns.
