Renovated 1950s semi-detached house with large garden in the medieval town of Vannes

Sunny three-bedroom house with open-plan living area, one double bedroom, two single bedrooms + a study with a bed-settee. One shower room downstairs and one bathroom upstairs. The house is 1300 square feet. The garden is large and shaded (there are two cherry trees in the back garden, as well as another cherry and a magnolia in front of the house). A gravel driveway provides plenty of off-street parking. We do have a garage, but it currently houses the washing machine, the tumble dryer, a large table-tennis table and a darts board (so there is no room left for our cars!). The house has high-speed fibre broadband.
We have two friendly chickens, who would need a little attention, but who would - in return - supply you with fresh eggs for the duration of your stay.
There are three bikes (1 standard adult, 1 small adult + 1 child's), which you would be welcome to use.

About the location

Our house is located in the quiet, residential area of Saint Guen (the church is at the end of our street and the bells ring out several times per week). Our local boulangerie is a 5-minute walk away and sells delicious bread and incredibe patisseries. There is a small supermarket a 10-minute walk away; the local hypermarket is a bit further (25 minutes on foot / 5 minutes by car).

The market in Vannes takes place outdoors every Wednesday and Saturday from 8am to 1.30pm on the pretty Place des Lices and its adjacent streets. There are also two indoor market halls in the centre of Vannes: the Halle des Lices (where you can buy fish, meat, fruit & vegetables, deli products...) and the Fish Market.

The Number 1 bus takes you straight into the centre of town (there is a bus stop three minutes' walk from the house); it can drop you off outside the Town Hall, next to the port or even - on Sundays - at the (very small) Conleau beach.

Overlooking the Gulf of Morbihan, two-and-a-half hours from Paris, Vannes is a mediaeval town with a marina. Picturesque, cultured and gourmet, it has a lively atmosphere all year round, but is particularly popular during the summer. The beautiful beaches of Arradon, Sené and Sarzeau are anything from 15 to 30 minutes' drive away. The town boasts two cinemas (1 art house, 1 multiplex), a theatre and several art galleries. Restaurants (especially creperies!) and cafés abound.
