A cosy and characterful stone built cottage circa 1820, recently sympathetically renovated, close to theatre and riverside cafes in the oldest part of town. It is located next to the old parish church along a quiet, narrow road but parking is available directly in front of the cottage.

The kitchen has cooking facilities, dishwasher, tea and coffee making etc but is designed to be like an old butlers pantry. The cottage has gas central heating and a log burner.

Please note there's no TV but there is DAB radio in the lounge and a 17.5" Portable DVD Player with 15.6" Large HD Swivel Screen with a selection of DVDs. There's also a small cinema / theatre a couple of minutes walk away.

About the location

Hawick is the knitwear capital of the Scottish Borders, with outlets such as Johnston's of Elgin close by. The theatre is just around the corner which has a small cinema too. The specialist shops and cosy cafes are minutes away as is the river walk and park.

Public transport is available to the other border towns but exploring by car (or bike) is probably best. There is so much beauty to be enjoyed in this special area of Scotland. This is the land of the infamous Border Reivers and Sir Walter Scott.

There's golf available just up the road, a sports centre and swimming pool, numerous restaurants and in short, plenty to see and do.

The nearest airports are Edinburgh and Newcastle which are both an hour and twenty five minutes scenic drive away by car. Train is possible from Edinburgh to Tweedbank which is half an hour's drive away from Hawick or a bus ride.
