Moorish village house near Marbella, totally renovated from head to toe

Set in the heart of Ojén, a historic, picture postcard `pueblo blanco` in the mountains behind Marbella, this two-bedroom house was totally renovated in 2022 to offer modern living in a stunning rural setting, close to Costa del Sol beaches.

It's a tall, thin house with some quirky features - eg. open-sided stairs are typical of the village (hence we suggest no very small children). The house has two double bedrooms with sea/mountain views and a small terrace with village views leading off the top floor master bedrooms. There's a small double sofa bed in the TV snug too, to suit an extra adult or child.

There`s one bathroom (with a shower), a reading/dining room, a TV/snug.

Mod cons include fast wifi, air con/heating, Netflix, dishwasher and fully-equipped, newly-renovated kitchen.

The house is located a minute`s walk from the ancient main village square, home to a 1,000-year-old church and various bars, restaurants and small shops including a bakery, bank and chemist.

Ojén combines the best of both worlds - country and coast.

You feel you are in the heart of the Andalucian countryside, set in the hills that are a haven for anyone who loves walking, cycling, running and soaking up breathtaking scenery. If you can handle hills, there's no limit to the amazing places to explore here.

But you are also just a short drive - by a fast road - down the hill to Marbella and the rest of the Costa del Sol, with endless beaches, restaurants and every leisure offering you can think of. There's a fantastic day spa a 10-minute drive away in the hills too.

Ojén is a `pueblo blanco` like Mijas - full of history, perched on a hillside, only smaller and without the tourists or donkeys. It`s a traditional Spanish village where you can immerse yourself in Andalucian life (but don`t worry - if your Spanish is anywhere between rusty to non-existent, English is spoken in most restaurants and bars, so you will always feel at ease and welcome). It's a very friendly place. Just sit in the square with a coffee and watch life around you. There's nothing better.

There is a wide variety of lovely restaurants and bars in Ojen too, within a short walk of the house, and a couple of small supermarkets to keep you stocked up.
