Large garden with seated area and parking for three cars (or more). Bus service into Kirkwall or Stromness. (10 miles to Kirkwall, 9 miles to Stromness where the nearest shops are). Underfloor heating, dishwasher, washing machine, fully fitted kitchen, use of bedding, towels etc. Decking area outside with garden furniture, drying green outside.
About the location
Great for nature and history buffs, from Scara Brae, to the Vikings to World War I & II. In easy driving distance: Skara Brae, The Ring of Brodgar, The Italian Chapel, St Magnus Cathedral, the Churchill Barriers (www.orkney.com/). The ferry to the isle of Hoy is two minutes from the house and the highlights are the old Man of Hoy, the Scapa Flow Museum opened recently by Sir Chris Hoy, the Martello Tower, and Rackwick Bay. The German Fleet scuppered in the Flow in front of our house and it is a very popular diving site. Bird watching and cetacean spotting throughout the Orkney Islands is superb and if you are lucky, you may be here at the right time to see sea eagles, golden eagles and the Northern Lights.
