Stylish 30s terrace in leafy neighbourhood with excellent transport

Our home sits in a leafy residential area just down the hill from popular Crystal Palace.

We have lovingly redecorated our home which sits over 3 floors. Downstairs is a spacious lounge leading to a sunny kitchen diner with plenty of room to sit 8 comfortably. All mod cons including dishwasher and wooden floors throughout. We do have a sofa bed in the lounge but just to note that there are cafe-style shutters rather than curtains.

The dining room opens out to a peaceful West facing garden with plenty of seating to enjoy the garden when the weather is good. There's a BBQ and a fire pit for chillier evenings and please feel free to use the coals and logs in the shed. At the top of the garden is a shady spot with lounge chairs for chilling out.

On the first floor are two good sized doubles - one with additional top sleeper bunk - and a family bathroom with bath and shower. The single room can be used too if requested but it's quite handy for us to shove all our family clutter and close the door!

Finally on the top floor is the enormous master bedroom with king sized bed, lovely views from the double doors and an en-suite with waterfall shower.

We have an independent but very affectionate female cat.

If you're travelling with smaller children, we can recommend local babysitters.

About the location

South Norwood is in zone 4 but has fast trains to London Bridge in 12 minutes and London Victoria in 20 minutes. It's also on the overground line (which links through to SE London hot spots Brockley, Forest Hill etc and up to East London, Hackney etc) as well as handy bus routes.

The area has everything you need in terms of supermarkets and local shops. There's also a leisure centre and swimming pool, yoga studio, craft beer bar and shop, pizza restaurant, Stanley Arts hub, several lovely cafes, a cocktail bar and a handful of pubs all within easy walking distance. We are pretty close to Crystal Palace's ground if football is your bag! It's a nice area to enjoy and a great base for exploring South London and beyond.

We are moments from the beautiful Grangewood Park with ancient oak trees, newly-built playground, tennis courts and outdoor gym, plus South Norwood Lakes is nearby. Our road is a cul-de-sac with Whitehorse meadow at the end - perfect for picking blackberries and sloes or for a kick about.

Crystal Palace is a 20 minute walk or bus ride up the hill and has a plethora of bars, restaurants and independent shops. There's a weekly farmer's market and independent Everyman Cinema. The Times newspaper named Crystal Palace as the best place to live in London in 2022. The original Victorian Crystal Palace is long gone but the Egyptian sculptures and life size dinosaurs remain in Crystal Palace Park.

We are about a 45 minute drive from Gatwick Airport and there are frequent trains. A 20 minute drive and you're in Surrey Countryside.
