Very clean & cosy central Paris 3-bed apartment with balconies

Located in central Paris, just minutes` walk from the amazing Natural History Museum and the very large Jardin des Plantes and its small zoo, play area and lovely alpine garden, our 82m2 family apartment was completely refurbished 7 years ago and was entirely redecorated 18 months ago.

Upon entering the building, you can walk up one flight of stairs, or take the small lift, to our apartment which has 3 bedrooms :

- one with super king bed, desk workspace & Clavinova piano
- one with kid's-size single bed: 1m80 (for our 4 year-old)
- one with kid's-size single bed: 1m80 (for our 6 year-old)

There is a fully-equipped kitchen with washing/drying combi machine, oven, induction hobs, fridge-freezer, dishwasher and table & chairs.

The living room has a sofa which converts into a very comfortable double bed if needed.

Our bathroom has a full-size bath with shower overhead, and a sink and w/c. The shower is strong and hot water is plentiful. We also have a very handy second w/c next to the bathroom.

From approximately the end of October to the end of May the building's communal heating system is on 24/7 so you will be very cosy & warm. You can also turn down / off each radiator if needed.

There is a balcony to the front of the apartment, giving onto the street, and a second balcony stretching along the 3 bedrooms at the back of the apartment, giving onto the very quiet, peaceful and little-used garden of our downstairs elderly neighbours.

For children there are all the toys & books (mostly in English but French, too) of our 6 year-old boy and 4 year-old girl. We can get out a high-chair and pushchair if needed.

A few final points:
We have wonderful neighbours and so we would ask that you be very respectful, keeping noise to a minimum.
We are also very house proud and don't wear shoes inside, and we'd ask you to do the same.
We have an excellent cleaner who comes once a week, and we would be more than happy (and keen!) for her to continue to come during your stay.
We have many plants on our balconies and would need to you water them daily, using the hosepipes on each balcony, being careful to turn off at the taps once finished.
Absolutely no smoking anywhere, please.

NB I do need to update a few of the photos to show a few updates from January 2026, but on the photo descriptions section I have commented on any changes that have been made since I took the photos.

We are looking for simultaneous or non-simultaneous exchanges (if we are away visiting friends for one particular school holiday then you could stay at ours while we are away, for example).

We do have another option for non-simultaneous exchange: we have a newly-renovated studio apartment next to our main apartment and this could be suitable for 1 or 2 travellers and is free most of the time. This could be a good option to help people needing more flexibility!

About the location

The Jardin des Plantes, on the street behind ours, is home to the Natural History Museum (which includes some fabulous dinosaur skeletons in one of its buildings) and is great for families.

Our family-orientated neighbourhood has absolutely everything you will need in short walking distance: supermarkets, bakeries, cafés, restaurants, pharmacies, doctors, La Poste, numerous small squares and gardens with play equipment for children…

A 5-minute walk down our street takes you to a beautiful square and church, located at the bottom of the very famous and authentic rue Mouffetard with its cobbles and traditional bakeries and stores (there’s also a Starbucks!).

A short bus journey or walk will take you to the Panthéon, and then a short walk down to the Jardin du Luxembourg with its puppet theatre for kids, donkey rides, sandpits, water bassin where you can sail model boats for hire, large play area (we can never get our kids to leave!) and more.

We are also just 10 minutes by foot from the river Seine and a lovely walk along the river to Notre Dame.

Being so central it is possible to walk to a great many attractions, but if you want to take public transport then you couldn`t be better placed, with many buses on the boulevard behind our street; and especially with the extremely practical Métro & RER stations within 5-10 minutes’ walk:

- METRO: Saint Marcel, line 5 - direct to garde du nord for Eurostar (or change here onto the RER B for Direct service to CDG airport), Bastille & République (walking distance to Le Marais).
- METRO: Censier Daubenton, line 7 - direct to the Opéra Garnier & the Louvre.
- RER : Austerlitz, RER C - direct to Notre Dame, Musée d`Orsay, Invalides, Eiffel Tower & Versailles.

Families will love:
- Natural History Museum 5 minutes on foot from our apartment
- Jardin des Plantes 5 minutes on froot from our apartment
- The river Seine 10 minutes on foot, which you can follow along on a lovely walk to Notre Dame
- The many gardens / parks with activities for children nearby
- A great ice-cream parlour 1 minute from our apartment
- The fantastic bakery 1 minute away from our apartment
- For adults & older children there is Paris’ only year-long heated outdoor pool 20 minutes’ walk away (Piscine de la Butte aux Cailles)
- For younger children there is the Piscine Jean Taris with kids’ shallow pool (Piscine Jean Taris) which is to the top of the rue Mouffetard
- Cinemas close by
