Chic uptown Greek Revival

Recently renovated and restored, charming 1840 Greek Revival house in the Lower Garden district of New Orleans. Thirteen ft. ceilings, wide, heart pine floors, cypress millwork etc. with an eclectic art collection, and small tropical garden.
This is a very large house. When I renovated, I created a 1600sq. ft. apt. for myself, at the back of the property. The entrance is at the side through a private courtyard. My personal living area is surrounded by a private, walled tropical garden that is accessible with porches from all the rooms.

The house is near the streetcar line and walking distance (three blocks) to Magazine street, filled with boutiques, restaurants, cafes, antique shops etc. Also it’s a short bike ride to the French Quarter (2.3 miles) through the Arts District.
There are two master bedrooms, one with a queen bed and one with a double bed. Each bedroom has direct access to bathrooms done in marble and slate. The third room I use as a weaving studio/library. It has a couch/futon that opens for further use as a single bed. There are French doors leading to porches from every room, a very southern style. Off the kitchen is a porch with a larger deck. There are overhead fans as well as central air& heat, all mod-cons, (wi/fi -smart tv/cable, washer/dryer, dish washer etc.) and an automatic sprinkler system, watering many tropical plants including two species of banana, papaya, avocado, meyer lemon, fig, and pear trees, with a small “grotto”-under the ancient yucca tre Ie, to sit and meditate.
