Family home with garden in Leyton, east London

We live in an end-of-terrace home in Leyton, a brick-built Victorian house with exposed floorboards and three bedrooms (two bedrooms have double beds, one bedroom fits only single bed). It has a modern kitchen and bathroom, fitted only five years ago. There is a large dining table, and sofa area. The bathroom is upstairs.

The garden is about 40 metres long, so quite big for London, and private - it has table, chairs and hammock, with vegetable area and pond at back. We have a barbecue.

About the location

The house is a 12 minute walk to Leyton tube on the Central line (25min tube into Oxford Circus), and 10 min walk to Leyton Midland Road overland station, for trains to Hampstead heath and Barking Riverside. A five minute walk away is Leyton High Street, with supermarkets, pubs and shops. The house is also 10 minutes from Leyton Jubilee park, which has a big playground for kids, and Hackney marshes in the Lea valley park. There are good bus links to Hackney and Shoreditch.

Leyton in east London is a vibrant, diverse neighbourhood situated between the Olympic park in Stratford and Walthamstow, both of which are up-and-coming areas popular with young families and artists. Both of these centres have great transport links, including tubes. Stratford has the massive Westfield shopping centre/mall, with cinema and the London stadium. Walthamstow has the longest street market in London, a theatre there is opening soon, and the William Morris museum and gallery.
