4 Bedroom Victorian Terrace in Kendal, Lake District

**Not available for swaps before Aug 2024**

Our lovely Victorian Terrace is a family home with plenty of space to relax. The house is set back from a main road with great views over fields and Benson Knott hill. It`s a five minute walk from Kendal train station to the doorstep for those who enjoy car-free travel. We have two friendly house-cats Cookie and Cove.

*Four comfy double bedrooms (one with a sofa bed, two with desk space)
*Basement TV snug / playroom
*Dining / sitting room with wood burning stove
*Bright living room with bay window and plenty of books to browse
*Modern and well-equipped kitchen
*Enclosed yard with plants, herbs and play kitchen

We moved to Kendal in summer 2022, and I think we`d say the house decor is currently quite eclectic! If you`re relaxed about wallpaper styles and enjoy Victorian features we think you will love staying in our house.

We`re a 15 minute walk from the town centre, and have a range of supermarkets just along the road from the house. Kendal is a great location for exploring both the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales.

About the location

Kendal is a market town with a great range of independent shops, local breweries and restaurants - often tucked away in the many historic cobbled yards. The Brewery Arts Centre in Kendal has a year-round programme of dance, theatre, cinema and exhibitions.

Situated perfectly for travel into the Lake District National Park, outdoor enthusiasts can take your pick from hiking, wild swimming, mountain biking and more in the varied landscape. Windermere 20 mins away has excellent water sports facilities with tuition and equipment to hire. Nearby towns Ambleside and Grasmere have excellent cafes and independent shops, and there are lots of family friendly attractions - one of our favourites being the Hawkshead Chocolate Factory.

Away from the main tourist centres, as you head towards the Langdales and beyond, the lakes and fells become more wild and rugged with plenty of footpaths to explore and country pubs to enjoy. Kendal bus station has excellent links to a huge area of the Lakes and open-topped buses to enjoy the scenery.

Travelling East from Kendal you can easily reach the Yorkshire Dales National Park, with the stunning Ingleton Waterfalls Trail just 40 minutes away. Moorland walks, waterfalls, picturesque villages and the Settle to Carlisle railway are just a few of the delights the Yorkshire Dales has to offer.
