Exeter hills

With stunning views over Exeter and surrounding hills and countryside, this detached house is newly renovated and very comfortable. We live on a private road on the very fringes of the city, with fields around us and a nature-reserve opposite the house. It's up on a slope (so there are steps to the front door, with sturdy handrails) with an established garden all around. Roe deer and badgers are regular visitors. The garden is safe for children with supervision. The main living area is open plan. There is a shower-room and 2 bedrooms on the ground floor, and 2 more with bath/shower room on the first floor. 1 bedroom has single bed and cot. The others are 1 double and 2 kingsize beds. The house has PV cells and an air-source heatpump, and the secure garage has a hook up for charging an electric vehicle. The house sleeps 7 adults, and there is a cot, with space for an airbed too.

About the location

Exeter is a compact Cathedral city which is the capital of Devon. It has a theatre, 3 cinemas, excellent sports facilities and an award-winning museum. Where the city dips down to the River Exe is the quay, with water-sports, a climbing wall and lots of cafes. We've lived here 25 years now. We love being just half an hour from the sea, with great coastal walks near Budleigh Salterton or Sidmouth to the East, or Dawlish to the South. There are local train services along the estuary, as well as great bike trails.
