Fully refurbished traditional Highland cottage with terrace and garden

Kelvin Cottage is a traditional cottage nestled in the heart of the delightful Highland community of Ullapool. Built in the late 19th century, we’ve fully modernised the property over the last few years to a high standard. It comprises a kitchen/diner, living room, study, two bedrooms and a shower-room. There’s a generous garden with lawns and shrubs to the rear, a shed for storing bikes and a beautiful terrace for sitting out on sunny days.

The kitchen/diner at the back of the house overlooks the garden, which is full of birds throughout the year. It has an American-style fridge-freezer, induction hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble drier. French doors open onto the terrace.

The living room is a cosy space with smart TV, sofa and wood-burning stove, perfect for long winter nights. Thermostatically controlled wall-mounted Rointe heaters throughout offer an alternative to the stove. Upstairs there are two bedrooms (one double, one single) and shower room. There is also a downstairs study which houses a spin exercise bike and has space for yoga etc.

Although the cottage is in the heart of the village, even at the height of the busy summer period, the garden at the back remains a tranquil haven.

About the location

Ullapool is the ferry port for the Outer Hebrides, located on the shores of Lochbroom and enjoying stunning views over the loch and to the surrounding mountains. The internationally renowned North West Highlands Geopark starts a ten minute drive up the road. Sea kayaking, sailing, climbing and gorge walking are all available nearby, as well as a myriad of hillwalking opportunities.
