It is very convenient only minutes from Sydney`s CBD and Opera House (either a short 20 minute walk or one or two train stops to the city/4 stops to the Opera House). The apartment is very close to Redfern Station. It gives you access to Sydney`s comprehensive rail network. Bus services are also just a few minutes away.
This is our city `summer house in the sky` (but is nice to be in all year round) which we use when we are spending time in Sydney.
About the location
Redfern is a busy inner city suburb (If Sydney was New York, then Redfern would probably be Brooklyn) with a mix of older and younger people and families.
The local area has become somewhat gentrified and now has many good restaurants, cafes and wine bars. We like Bart Jr, Juan Bowl & Tea, La Coppola Pizza, Ra Ra Ramen and Lucky Kwong (Everleigh).
It is very close to Sydney University, UTS, the Carriageworks Markets (Saturday), Belvoir Theatre and newly refurbished South Everleigh precinct (former railway workshops) which includes a modern supermarket and more eateries. Historic parks and gardens close by as well as public swimming pools.
