The Old Trout

A former Inn, the Old Trout was built in the 1860s to serve the local agricultural community of the Dulas Valley and closed it’s doors to customers in 1987. It’s a picturesque, stone-built house with a spacious kitchen and living room, three double bedrooms and one single. Out side there is ample parking and a large garden with picturesque stream running through it, and a patio with out door seating and space to store bikes if needed.

About the location

This part of Herefordshire is a quiet corner on the England Wales border. The landscape is hilly, and that of upland hill farming and forestry. We have enjoyed walking in the Black Mountains , canoeing and swimming in the rivers Wye and Usk, slightly further afield are the Brecon Beacons, Forest of Dean and Wye Valley. Our local villages, each have a small shop and pub, slightly further afield are the towns of Hay on Wye , famous for books, and Abergavenny, home to the annual food festival.
