Family Home by the Beach

Our home is located in the beautiful coastal village of Elie and Earlsferry and has been fully renovated over the last 5 years.

The house has a large dining kitchen, with a snug area and doors onto the roof top balcony, with stunning views over Elie beach and over to Elie Ness lighthouse and the Bass Rock. There are two double bedrooms (one with a king size bed and one with a double bed) and a small single (childs) bedroom. Downstairs there is another living area, with a woodburner and sofas to sit and relax or watch TV. Off this living area is the small enclosed sheltered garden which is a real suntrap. The house also has two shower rooms. There is free on street parking available.

The house is a 1 minute walk to the beach, a 5 minute walk to the nearest pub and a 10 minute walk to the centre of the village.

About the location

The East Neuk of Fife has one of Scotland’s loveliest coastlines, with its string of delightful fishing villages and stunning coastal views and is famous for its abundance of seafood and locally grown produce. Elie is a popular seaside town in the East Neuk of Fife, gathered around a curve of golden sand. Its beach the perfect spot for swimming and games in the summer or bracing seaside walks followed by a warming dram in winter. The historic harbour, established in the 16th century, is popular with yachts and small pleasure craft whilst the surrounding bay is popular with watersport enthusiasts and swimmers.

Elie is also home to two fantastic golf courses and boasts tennis courts and bowling. In addition just a short drive away are the fine golf courses of Kingsbarns and St. Andrews.

Elie has many interesting historic buildings, some of which date back to the 17th century, including The Lady`s Tower, a summer house built for Lady Janet Anstruther.

Elie village has Elie Deli for your culinary needs, a newsagents, chemist, essential ice cream shop, Barnetts bakery for your fresh bread, pastries and cakes, gift shops and coffee shop, and three pubs. There are also several other eating options, at the Pavillion and Harbour café. There are also some excellent farm shops and local fish merchants a short distance away.

The impressive coastal path, wonderful in all seasons, stretches for miles in both directions, with the added challenge of the local “chain walk” on the cliffs above the waves. The coastal path is the prime spot to see whales, dolphins, seals and other coastal wildlife, with plenty of places to stop to enjoy the view.
Culture-lovers can enjoy its many arts events, from classical music at the prestigious East Neuk Festival in June to the Pittenweem Arts Festival in August

Visitors are never short of things to do, even if it’s just sitting in the Ship Inn’s garden watching the tide go in and out and sometimes watching their famous beach cricket team.
