Large apartment in the centre of Bowness-on-Windermere

My spacious first floor apartment is located within the private Quarry Rigg development in the centre of Bowness-on-Windermere. It is all-electric and has recently fitted modern electric radiators for heating. The kitchen is fully-equipped and has a washing machine, dishwasher, fridge freezer, microwave, air fryer, slow cooker etc. The apartment comes with a decent broadband service and there are television sets in the living room, kitchen and one bedroom. One bedroom has a double bed whilst the other two have two single beds all with built-in wardrobes. There is a large balcony to sit out on which overlooks lawns and woods. There is space for one or two cars to park outside my garage, which is located directly under my flat. Well behaved dogs are welcome to stay.

About the location

Bowness-on-Windermere is a very pretty and busy tourist village situated on the banks of Windermere in the magnificent Lake District National Park. It is the main terminal for cruises on Windermere lake and has numerous restaurants, pubs and tourist shops, two small supermarkets, a cinema and newsagents. The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction and the Old Laundry Theatre and annex are almost next door to my apartment. It is also easy to find peace and quiet above the village where there are some superb views over the lake.

The nearby twin village of Windermere has a railway station with regular services to and from Oxenholme Lake District and Manchester Airport, and the adjacent bus station has services to Kendal, Barrow, Morecambe, Bowness, itself, and to Keswick, Ambleside, Grasmere, Hawkshead, Coniston and Great Langdale in the National Park. There is a nearby car ferry across the lake to the quiet countryside around Hawkshead.

The Lake District is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with rugged mountains, breathtaking lakes and valleys, pretty villages and towns and numerous quaint pubs and excellent restaurants. There are loads of things to do, including hiking, sailing, wild swimming and 'adventure' activities such as rock climbing and mountain biking. Within easy reach of Bowness are the unique Morecambe Bay and the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
