Jack Clee`s Cottage

Detached cottage 18th century with small new wing. The cottage is situated three quarters of a mile up a track in farmland under a wood. The track can be muddy and bumpy but an ordinary car can cope. There is a garden and views out over the Corvedale, a beautiful part of Shropshire.

The house sleeps three in 1 double, 1 single bed. Downstairs bathroom, with bath, shower and bidet. There is no upstairs loo. Oil fired Rayburn cooker and gas cooker / central heating (downstairs only) and hot water + wood burner in the sitting room with free logs. There is an annexe which will sleep several children or adults in camp beds on the 1st floor. A large wood burner makes it a snug place but it has no running water or loo up there.

This is not all mod cons modernised but it`s comfortable, cosy and warm and we`re surrounded by fields and wood, just 6 miles from Ludlow. It is not immaculate but clean we hope and with all necessities.
Washing machine but no drier or dishwasher.
There is no TV but there is a screen and we watch DVDs on it. We have Broadband WiFi and can stream movies.

No dogs allowed, the possibility of sheep worrying, however remote, cannot be risked.

Pleasant garden, tents could be pitched, nearest neighbour 250 yards away in next field. You will find Roe and Muntjac deer, foxes and badgers in woods behind the house, Goshawks and Red Kites sometimes too.

About the location

Rural location, good pubs, restaurants and markets in Ludlow just 6 miles away. Ludlow Castle overlooks the river Teme nearby. National Trust properties Croft Castle and Berrington hall are a drivable distance as is the remarkable English Heritage property Stokesay Castle. However there is good walking and cycling right from the doorstep. The county town of Shrewsbury is an hour away by car or there is a train from Ludlow or Craven Arms. The line also runs to the Cathedral Town of Hereford.
