Bunny Cottage

Bunny Cottage is a sweet and cosy centrally heated cottage located on the edge of the delightful village of Middleton in Teesdale. It has two bedrooms (but only one is available to use) and bathroom (with bath and over shower). Downstairs there is a lounge with wood burner and TV, with views out onto Beck Lane with its waterfalls and woods. The back room has dining table and seating, a Rayburn oil fired stove which provides the central heating. The window looks out onto a private yard and outbuildings. The galley kitchen with electric oven and hob, microwave and dishwasher is accessed up a single step.

Outside there is a private enclosed yard with table and chairs. The outbuildings include a wood store and laundry room (with washing machine and tumble dryer).

There is on street parking directly in front of the cottage. All shops and cafes are just a 5 minute walk away, and the village is on the bus route to Barnard Castle.

About the location

Middleton-in-Teesdale is well placed on the edge of the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and a UNESCO geo-park. It is around 10 miles from the market town of Barnard Castle, with its lovely independent shops and galleries. Whilst having a very quiet upper Teesdale location, Middleton has enough amenities to support itself. These include a good range of shops, cafes, restaurants and bars, churches, pharmacy, GP, garage and hotel. There is a co-op open 7am-10pm, 7 days a week.

With many lovely and varied walks direct from the door it will suit anyone who enjoys beautiful countryside, including rivers, waterfalls and open moorland routes.
The famous High Force waterfalls are around 5 miles away, the Pennine Way and Teesdale Way both pass within a mile of the cottage door. Bowes Museum with its collection of art is nearby in Barnard Castle. For anyone wanting to explore County Durham, it is all within easy reach by car. Durham, Richmond, Alston (the highest town in England) and the open moors of the Pennines are all close by.
