Riverside home in pretty Somerset town - Taunton

Our 20 year old 3-storey townhouse is in a lovely location right on the banks of the River Tone in Taunton. It is a 4-bedroomed house, but as only two of us live here now, there are only two double bedrooms available, both with en-suite bathrooms with showers. There is also a family bathroom with a bath. The kitchen/diner is on the ground floor. Our sitting room, on the first floor, has lovely views through French windows, through trees, and over the river to the Taunton-Bridgwater canal. One bedroom is on this floor, the other rooms are on the top. We are on the edge of a quiet cul-de-sac estate, so there is no through traffic. Parking for one car is in our front yard. Sophie our cat will look forward to seeing you!

About the location

We are in an area that is a protected nature reserve teeming with wildlife, including a heron, little egret, swans and even otters (if you are lucky to spot them!). Yet we are only a 10 minute riverside walk from the town centre, passing the Somerset County Ground and the Brewhouse Theatre on the way. Morrisons is a 5 minute walk, the railway station a 12 minute walk, and we are only 2 miles from the M5 J25. Taunton is a lovely town, largely missed by tourists (but we like it that way!) Shaped like a clover leaf, we have what we call the "green wedges" - where the countryside pretty much touches the town centre, so from here there are numerous rural walks you can do - heaven in lockdown world! Taunton is also a great base for exploring all that Somerset has to offer.
