5 bedroomed family home

We have a 5 bedroomed semi detached house close to the centre of Buxton. There is off road parking for 2 cars, an enclosed garden and plenty of space indoors. A great base for exploring the Peak District and Derbyshire. We have 4 teenage / grown up children so have lots of games and a few bikes that can be used. Smart TV and Nintendo Wii in the living room. Netflix and Amazon Prime.
The accomodation is over 4 floors as we have a basement conversion and loft conversion. The bedrooms are: 1 super king with en suite in the loft, then on the first floor: 1 king, 2 single bedrooms (one with a small sofa bed, so an 8th person could be accomodated there) and a further bedroom with a single on the upper ground floor. As well as the en suite there is a family bathroom on the first floor and a further shower room and separate WC on the upper ground floor. The shower room has a washing machine and tumble dryer. Open plan basement / lower ground floor consists of living room, dining room and kitchen and a conservatory which leads into the garden. At the end of the garden there is a games room which has a full size table tennis table, rowing machine, cross trainer and bouldering wall. High chair available on request. Car not required as we are half a mile from the railway station, but you would find a car helpful to make the most of the surrounding area. We also run a rental property in Buxton which we would be able to offer as a swap for a non- simultaneous stay. It is a ground floor apartment in a period property and sleeps 4. It has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and is in a very quiet part of Buxton but only a 5 minute walk into town one way and countryside the other. Do ask for more info if you think this would suit you better.
Buxton is a fantastic base to explore the Peak District. Bakewell is 15 minutes away and Chatsworth a 20 minute drive. Lots of lovely villages: Eyam, Hartington, Casterton all within 10 miles, and lots of cycle trails and beautiful places to walk within very easy reach.

About the location

Buxton is a very pretty market town in Derbyshire. It`s a great base for exploring Buxton and the surrounding area. Chatsworth, Lyme Park & Haddon Hall are all within half an hours drive. There are plenty of places to cycle, walk, rock climb or enjoy water sports in the surrounding area. There are lots of lovely independant restaurants and cafes in Buxton only a short walk from our house.
You can walk into the countryside from our house, or else a 20 minute drive will take you to several different trails (the Monsal Trail, Tissington Trail and others) as well as the Goyt Valley, the Roaches, the Hope Valley and many other great places. One hour by train to Manchester, 1 hour drive to Manchester, Sheffield or Derby. Lots of beautiful Derbyshire towns and villages within a 10 mile radius: Bakewell, Eyam, Castleton, Hartington and others. I would describe public transport as adequate - there is a direct train from Manchester, and several bus routes throughout the Peak District. A car isn`t necessary, but you would find it easier to explore more if you had a car.
