Histon and Impington are twin villages 6km north of Cambridge city. They are historic pretty villages with a village Green and pond in the centre. There are many amenities: Pubs and restaurants, local shops - 2 small supermarkets, bakers, butchers, Post Office. There are childrens` playgrounds, a sports ground and a sports centre with an indoor swimming pool. There are various walks around the villages and a good bus service into Cambridge.
Cambridge is a historic and beautiful city. You can visit the Colleges, go punting on the river, visit some world class museums and take lovely walks along the river and through the city. There are three multi screen cinemas, theatres, the Botanic Gardens and many shops and restaurants.
Nearby towns include Ely, Bury St Edmunds, Saffron Walden and London is one hour away.
