About the location

The village has lots of amenities all within a few minutes walk: shop, post office and shop. pub, Chinese restaurant with take away, kebab shop, barbers, three hairdressers, pet shop.
There a a lovely nature reserve three minutes from the house and lots of nice walks in the area accessible by foot, bikeor car. There is a nice church in the village and a library.
About five miles is the lovely market town of St. Ives. Eleven miles is the larger town of Huntingdon. Both of these places have many associations with Oliver Cromwell and contain interesting museums, parks, cinema (Huntingdon), leisure centres, many good places to eat and beautiful riverside walks. Just over 20 miles away is the magnificent city of Cambridge, which needs no explanation. Ely is easy driving distance with it`s awesome cathederal, markets, unique shops and well known tea rooms. Also, lovely riverside walks and a museum. Newmarket, the horse racing town is another lovely place to shop, visit the horse racing museum or attend the races if it is the right season. In general the area is lovely and a mornings drive around the nearby villages would be very rewarding. You will find the Raptor Foundation and, probably, the best farm shop in England. Johnson`s of Old Hurst. They have a play area, a nature trail, lots of animals - from farm animals to wallabies, donkey`s ostrich, ducks, geese, rabbits, deer, reindeer and crocodiles. The later you can watched being fed on Saturdays or take a tractor and trailor ride arond the farm. Johnson`s also have a tea room and a terrific steak house. At Pidley, four miles, the is a bowling alley, golf and a restaurant.
