Our rural home is recently renovated, modern sunny and bright.
The house comprises a main house and a fully furnished apartment, which makes it ideal for staying with friends or relatives. There is a large sunny kitchen with modern facilities: american fridge/ freezer, range master cooker, and microwave, a breakfast bar with stools and a comfy sofa. A wood burning stove separates the kitchen from the lounge, giving warmth to both rooms. The lounge has a sofa and a range of chairs with a wall mounted TV screen, the roof is partially glass domed to maximise the light. The glass domed dining room is situated in the garden room, with full length windows overlooking the garden.
Upstairs are 2 double bedrooms, one with a balcony overlooking the front garden, and a single bedroom. A marble bathroom has a bath with a shower.
Our entrance hall has stairs leading to a self contained apartment, with a suite of rooms containing a double bedroom with a balcony overlooking the garden. There is also a small fully equipped kitchen and bathroom.
The front of the house consists of a well lit, gated driveway with off road parking for several cars. The small attractive garden is a lovely place to sit, with flowers, a pond, and a small wooden bridge. A large decking area by the pond is ideal for barbecues in the summer and has decking lights for the evenings.
About the location
The house is situated in a quiet, rural, setting on a narrow leafy lane overlooking fields. There are walks and cycling opportunities from our front door - bikes can be borrowed. A variety of wildlife can be seen around us: deer, peacocks, pheasants, as well as garden birds visiting the feeders in the garden.
We are ideally placed for the tourist wanting to explore the best of Hampshire; with the historic City of Winchester and Southampton with its shopping, theatres and restaurants a short drive away. Portsmouth with its historic ships and museums is 40 minutes by car. The New Forest has spectacular walks and wild life, is a half hour drive and Bournemouth beaches, a 45 minute drive. London is only an hour by train.
Ampfield itself, is a small village with 2 local pubs. There is a par 3 golf course and fishing. The small market town of Romsey is 5 minutes drive away, for provisions and a variety of restaurants.
