Family Home on the edge of Dartmoor National Park - Devon

Our 3 bedroom house is situated on top of a hill, on a quiet dead-end road, overlooking the rolling hills of the Devon countryside.

It has a front and a back garden with off street parking. It has a spacious kitchen and small but cosy living room with woodburner.

The bedrooms are all located upstairs. The master bedroom has a queen-size bed and the two additional bedrooms have bunkbeds that will accomodate 2 people per room.

The house has one bathroom, located downstairs.

At the end of the kitchen there is a small decking area where it is possible to enjoy a meal whilst enjoying the stunning views.

We have two cats, and two rabbits which live in the garden.

About the location

Buckfastleigh is an old woolen town, located on the edge of Dartmoor national park with ample local walking opportunities. It has a few independent shops as well as a Co-op supermarket; a small museum (Valiant Soldier - https://www.devonmuseums.net/The-Valiant-Soldier,-Buckfastleigh/Devon-Museums/) which gives one the opportunity to feel like you are travelling back in time; an outdoor swimming pool; a recently renovated skatepark; a community art hub - Jellyfish (https://jellyfishartshub.co.uk/) which one can access arts events, workshops, talks and concerts; an otter and butterfly sanctuary - https://www.ottersandbutterflies.co.uk/. From Buckfastleigh it is possible to take a steam train to the picturesque town of Totnes whilst enjoying a traditional English cream tea. (See website for further details. https://www.southdevonrailway.co.uk/). Totnes is approximately 20 minutes drive by car from our home.

Buckfastleigh is located close to the A38 (Devon Highway) and situated between two cities - Exeter and Plymouth. Roughly the same distance as these cities is Torquay the birth place of Agatha Christie.

Three rivers meet together in Buckfastleigh, one of which is the river Dart which is popular with canoeists. The nearest beach is about half hour drive away - our favourite beach is Mothecombe, but there are many beaches along the South Devon coast to choose from. A good surfing beach is Bantham (approximately 40 mins drive).
