Villa Bakean
A typical Basque house. Long balcony with timbers painted red, one of four traditional colours in the Pays Basque. Large garden with a slightly wild section. Quite location though there are neighbours about 50 metres away. We also have four cats that will have to be looked after. In fact they are the priority!!!
We almost certainly wouldn`t want to holiday in your home but travel to other destinations we have wanted to visit for a long time. This gives you the opportunity to either let your home whilst you are here or secure it and have no worries about people staying in your home. WIFI and ample parking.
About the location
In the foothills of the Pyrenees. Magnificent scenery and 7 kilometres by road to the Spanish frontier. Biarritz is 20 kilometres to the north and St Jean de Luz 12 kilometres to the east, both on the coast. There are many Basque villages in the region and all of them have a `fete` at some time during the year. In our local village are all the amenities one would require, Supermarket, chemist, hairdresser; everything. Whilst there is often snow on the mountains in winter we never receive any though it can be quite cool; around ten degrees C. during winter and roughly 26-29 C. summer.
