Sith na Mara Appartment

Welcome to our family holiday home on the beautiful Isle of Arran! Sith na Mara is a modern, well appointed and comfortable detached house on the shore overlooking the sea in the village of Corrie. The apartment occupies the first floor and is all on one level with a separate outside entrance staircase. The apartment is made up of: a lounge/dining/Kitchen area with a fully-equipped galley kitchen; a family bathroom with whirlpool bath; a large double bedroom with en-suite toilet and shower and built in wardrobes; and a second, twin bedroom. Outside there is a good-sized garden with mature trees and lawn to front and rear with a small patio with table and chairs. There is a large drive with parking for two cars.

About the location

The Isle of Arran is the largest of the islands in the Firth of Clyde on the west coast of Scotland and has it all! Mountains, glens, lochs, beaches, rocky shores and cliffs, forests with plenty of scope for walking, climbing, cycling, water sports, golf or just pottering about! There is an abundance of historical interest with stone circles, ancient monuments and castles. The natural environment is pretty spectacular too! Arran is a geologists paradise and the island is home to eagles, red squirrels, otters and deer. You`ll be unlucky if you don`t see red squirrels in our garden and dolphins and basking sharks are often spotted from the shore. The island is known for its local produce and is well served by cafes, tearooms, hotels and restaurants to suit all tastes.

Corrie is one of the prettiest villages on the island situated on the east coast some 9.5 Km/6 miles from Brodick the main village and ferry port. Corrie is situated at the foot of Goatfell, the highest mountain on the island (approx 850 metres, not quite a Munro!) and the path to the summit starts just down the road from the apartment.

Arran is served by frequent car ferries operated by Caledonian MacBrayne from Ardrossan on the Ayrshire coast (a 55 minute crossing) and Claonaig on the Kintrye peninsular (30 mins, summer only) (www.calmac.co.uk for ferry info). Ardrossan is approximately one hour by road or 45 mins by rail from Glasgow (the train connects with the ferry).
