About the location

Girton is a village north of Cambridge, easily accessible by bicycle (about 4 miles, 15-20 minutes), or by the local bus service. The area is very safe, frequented by horse riders, runners, and walkers.

Apart from the charm of Cambridge with its stunning colleges, excellent museums, open air lido, and punting on the river Cam, there are a number of National Trust and English Heritage properties accessible by car or train (Anglesey Abbey, Wimpole Hall and Farm, Wicken Fen, Audley End, Wrest Park, Ickworth).

You can cycle to hidden treasures such as The Orchard in Grantchester, Madingley Hall, along the river Cam, or to St Yves along the guided busway (another one of Cambridge curiosities).

London Kings Cross is 50 minutes away from the train station (you need to cycle or take the bus to reach the station).

Ely Cathedral, and any of the beaches in Norfolk and Suffolk are all well worth a visit.
