Tapsalteerie Cottage, Cullipool, Isle of Luing, Argyll

Traditional, completely restored 19th Century cottage at the edge of the sea on a small Inner Hebridean island called Luing, accessed by car ferry which runs every half an hour and takes 5 minutes to cross with no booking required.

Our very large garden is a sun trap being south-facing over large pond . The garden is terraced with many sitting areas throughout. The house is comfortable and cosy with a wood burning stove in the sitting room.

There are many beautiful walks from the door of the cottage, all with sea views. This is a small, very community-orientated island, and the locals will make you very welcome. There is a licensed cafe/museum/gallery/events centre within a few minutes walk from the cottage which put on a variety of events throughout the year.

The local shop is licensed and well stocked with many local products including bread and cakes baked on the island, meats, fish, cheeses all of which are locally produced. It is open 6 days being closed only on Sundays.

The island is a place to relax and enjoy the bird and wild life which abounds; otters and dolphins being frequently spotted and from time to time basking sharks.
