Martock Cottage - West Dorset

Dating back to the 19th century, our cottage is perfectly situated to explore the stunning Jurassic coastline of West Dorset. In less than 20 minutes, you can also visit the beautiful beaches featured in ITV drama Broadchurch.

Just five minutes walk to the heart of Beaminster, our welcoming two bedroom cottage accommodates up to four guests.

The cottage has a small but beautifully formed garden where you can enjoy fabulous countryside views from the comfort of our up-cycled bath bench.

If you fancy a night in and the great British weather is all n your side, you can enjoy our wood fired pizza oven absolutely free of charge or enjoy the built in BBQ. For the colder nights curl up in the lounge and light the wood burning stove.

There is a shop 20 yards from the cottage for an emergency bottle of wine or a pub 200yrds away should you fancy a night out.

Beaminster town is just a five minute walk away with a good selection of boutique shops, coffee shops, museum, an amazing butchers, bakery, greengrocers, large convenience store, at least five eateries and several takeaways should you fancy a night in.

Just fifteen minutes drive from the cottage you can visit the bustling market town of bridport with bi-weekly food and antique markets.

West bay is an unspoilt fishing port with great beaches and amazing walks, this is also a 15 minute drive away. Again it offers a range of pubs, resteraunts, coffee shops, antique shops. This is my favourite place in west Dorset!

Lyme Regis is a beautiful coastal town just around 30 minutes drive. Beautiful walks beaches and great selection of shops and eateries.

In a natural valley in West Dorset, Beaminster is a small town with all the charm of a village so I’d call it a tillage. With several pubs, eateries, boutique outlets, coffee shops, a butchers, a bakers and a green grocers you?ve got everything you need within a five minute walk of the cottage. Enveloped by four of Dorset?s highest peaks the surrounding countryside provides some of the finest views in the country. If you like the great outdoors, there are many amazing walks right on your doorstep.

Don’t fancy walking?

If you want to take in the beautiful scenery without the walk, you can book a day to explore with Beaminster?s Donkey Walking Adventures or UKLlamas. This provides chance to explore and includes a few refreshment stops and keep the kids entertained at the same time.

Local shops

There is a shop just 60 seconds from the cottage. If you want a wider range of choice just walk to Beaminster Square which is around five minutes away and you will find everything you need. The closest supermarket is Morrisons in Bridport which is about a 15 minutes drive.
