Our haven - Ilkley, Yorkshire Dales

A 1920s bungalow which has been extended into roof space to make a 3/4 bedroomed house. It is set within a large flat garden in a quiet cul-de-sac. We have a large airy kitchen/diner, large sitting room, a bathroom and 2 bedrooms downstairs. Upstairs is a shower room and two more big bedrooms although one is used largely as a study. Ilkley town centre can be reached on foot in 25 mins and Ben Rhydding railway station is 7 mins walk away taking you to Leeds or Bradford

About the location

Ilkley is on the edge of The Yorkshire Dales, a small bustling town where there are many restaurants bars and exclusive shops. There are two small supermarkets, a theatre, cinema, swimming pool with an outdoor lido, and a tennis/fitness club. The railway line takes you to Leeds or Bradford (25 minutes) for museums art galleries, market and big shops. Also to David Hockney gallery and National Film museum. Harrogate, famous spar town) and York can be reached easily by both car and public transport. Yorkshire Sculpture Park and The Wakefield Hepworth gallery are within striking distance by car. You can see the famous Ilkley Moor from our house and a 20 minute walk will bring you to the equally famous `cow and calf ` rocks. Ilkley lies on the river Wharfe flowing down from the Dales, the edge of which can be reached about 20 minutes by car. The Lake District is one and a half hours away by car. There are motorway links in Leeds and Bradford.
