About the location

We are walking distance to local shops (5 mins) , restaurants, takeaway and a pub, 10 minutes walk to Whitley Bay beach (blue flagged sandy beach) and public swimming pool and gym. 15 mins walk into the the centre of Whitley Bay and 15 minutes walk to the nearest metro station.

Whitley Bay was voted the best place to live by the Sunday Times in both 2023 and 2024. We have an array of fabulous independent shops and cafes, restaurants, micro breweries and bars all within comfortable walking distance from our house.

Whitley Bay is famous for its iconic Spanish City Dome which was renovated in 2018. It has an award winning Fish restaurant, Trenchers as well as Valeries tea room, 1910 Steak and Seafood restaurant and a champagne bar both with stunning sea views.

We are spoilt for choice with blue flagged sandy beaches including Whitley Bay, Cullercoats (5 mins in car) and Tynemouth (7 mins in car), surf schools and surf hire, beach cafes, aquariums and the famous Rileys Fish Shack on King Edwards beach https://rileysfishshack.com in Tynemouth, which was named one of the UK's top seaside restaurants by Conde Nast Traveller. You'll also find the Sea and Salt Sauna Experience https://steamandsalt.co.uk on King Edwards Bay. All beaches mentioned can be also reached by walking and bike along the coast or by metro.

Whitley Bay is also a 5 minute drive from the Border of Northumberland. Delaval Hall (National Trust) is just 10 minutes drive and can also be reached by walking or cycling along the old waggon ways. Northumberland offers the most beautiful sandy beaches and Amble, Alnmouth, Holy island are all within easy reach. Boat trips to the Farne islands are also a must plus a visit to Alnwick to the gardens, castle and the newly installed Lilidorei (the worlds largest play structure).

Newcastle City Centre centre, Central Station and Newcastle International Airport are all 25 minutes drive or 20-30 minutes on the metro.

We are very lucky to live where we do and are excited to share it with fellow travellers.
