Stone village house

In the medieval part of the village, and next door to the boulangerie, the house has 3 storeys;

Ground floor has entrance hall, double bedroom , laundry room & shower room.

1st. floor: With a second front door ( house can also be entered from steps at side of house) into small sitting room with open fireplace ( + bookshelves, TV, DVD player ) a double bedroom & a large kitchen / diner ( with woodstove ) opening onto a private internal courtyard - NOT a garden, but a colourful & peaceful spot for relaxing, with covered shady area for dining.
Stone steps also down to ground floor.

Staircase from kitchen leads up to large mezzanine ( used as study ) with a single bed & third double bedroom & bathroom ( with low beams on one side) .
The house is simple, colourful & rather 'quirky'.
Parking is easy in the village.

About the location

The village is friendly and has all basic amenities ( boulangerie, boucherie, epicerie, unpretentious bar, 3 restaurants, pharmacie, post office, hairdressers, wine co-operative, library/ mediatech, tennis courts, sports ground...)

New swimming pool ( indoor & outdoor ) in next village.
Several lovely landscaped lakes nearby.
Seaside under 1 hr. Spain approx. 1½ hr.

The Minervois is a wine growing area & the village is surrounded by vineyards.
About 15 mins. from Carcassonne with it's Summer Festival ( & the UNESCO medieval Cité ) & the Canal du Midi, it lies in the valley between mountains with wonderful walks & landscapes , the stunning Corbières ( the 'last wilderness in Europe'), numerous lazy villages & sites to see & is the centre of historical Cathar country.
You can choose to have a lazy drink / meal in the sunshine, take a wine-tasting tour, hire bikes, or can find various activities to suit everyone...
There is a bus, but only 2 a day, I believe ! You can possibly have the use of my car.
Sorry we can't accept pets, as the cat likes her own space !
