Sunset Mountain Rentals & Bed and Breakfast

We would like to trade our beautiful “Sunset Mountain Bed & Breakfast private home. We have several opportunities depending on what we trade. This is our retirement retreat home in Costa Rica that we established 9 years ago. We also have a Riverfront home in Port Orange, Florida, in the Daytona Beach area & one hour to Orlando Airport & all the Disney & related tourist areas that we also would like to trade Dec. thru May. COSTA RICA: Trade our American style, 7 room, 2 story home located in the best central location you can find & only 15 minutes to SJO Airport. This is the perfect place to base while you travel & explore the country in all directions. We have a large master bedroom w/pillow top king bed & a family style divided guest bedroom that sleeps up to 7. The entire 3 room downstairs is “open style” flowing from the living room area & fireplace sitting area to the main kitchen. We have two breakfast bars, a dining room table that sits 6 & a custom wood cabinet kitchen fully stocked with everything you need. The bedrooms of our private family style home are located upstairs with a TV area between the two rooms. We have a porch that is accessible from both bedrooms and also private entrance to our unique Upper Deck Viewing Lounge w/fantastic Sunsets and Valley Views. We also have a 2nd kitchen under a covered patio just off the main kitchen w/gas stove & breakfast bar overlooking an atrium 2 story garden-a nice place for breakfast or coffee break while you enjoy the birds. Thank you. All inside areas are NON SMOKING. 3 covered areas to smoke.

We also offer a separate, private & nicely furnished apartment. The unit has a fully stocked, custom wood cabinet kitchen & living room combination with built in TV entertainment center. The separate bedroom is spacious & comfortably sleeps 2 on a pillow top queen bed. It has a closet & full bathroom. Everyone has access to the Upper Deck Lounge & gardens. Full laundry on premises & clothesline for nice weather.

We also have a single (double bed) “hotel style” room with full bath, TV, micro, fridge, & a full kitchen, breakfast bar & gas stove just outside the room. Our entire estate is fenced & landscaped with many gardens and fruit trees. Including the Upper Deck patio, we have 3 covered patios to relax, smoke, read or use our total property, HS Internet. Quiet neighborhood with nice mix of Locals (Tico) families, Americans, Euros & Canadians in the front and our ¾ acre fenced back yard overlooks 1,000’s of acres of coffee plantations, mountains & Poas Volcano. Enjoy fabulous 360 Views of the entire San Jose Valley from our Upper Deck & Viewing Lounge. Visit La Paz Butterfly & Waterfall Gardens, Poas, Doka Coffee Plantation, Parks & Restaurants - all within 5 to 45 minutes. You can safely WALK to 2 bus stops, church, small store, coffee shop & 4 restaurants. 10 mins to downtown Alajuela & 1 ½ hour to beaches. This is a perfect place to base while you travel Costa Rica. We have an honest, English speaking taxi driver with reasonable rates. ($10 one way to airport) & he will make good deals on your custom tours or just a short walk to Buena Vista Hotel where you can also take custom or planned tours & it offers a nice restaurant & bar. No A/C needed & warm clothes at night. No need for a car or if you are “really adventurous” you can have a rental delivered to your door. GPS recommended. Walk to 2 bus stops, church, coffee shop, & 4 restaurants. We have perfect year round weather 80 days/60 nights. We would like to trade “EQUAL” arrangements with other members almost any SAFE place in the World. We are in our late 60’s, very responsible & looking for the same match. We do love well behaved children. We would like to start our “Bucket List

About the location

We truly are located in the best central area of Costa Rica & close to everything. We are basically in the middle of the country. We are 2½ hour gorgeous drive from La Fortuna, Arenal Volcano, Lake Arenal and all the famous hot springs. (Tabacon, The Springs Resort & Spa, Baldi & more. In that area you can find about any kind of tour (suitable to your physical or mental conditions or fellow travelers -from “Beginners to Insane.” Be sure to check out each tour, the safety to yourself or family ranging from wild & difficult & crazy. This is not Disney World. We are about 5 hours (depending on traffic, route or road conditions) to San Isidro el General/Perez Zeladon in the gorgeous Chirripo area, Dominical Beach & points South to the Osa. You can take the Mountain of Death Highway that tops off at over 10,000 feet, or the easier, more relaxing beach route. Rent a car, hire guide or take a reasonable bus tour. Driving in Costa Rica is a challenge, especially in the towns or on the major highways. The trip to the Arenal area is very beautiful country once off the main road & also to the beaches. We are 30 minutes to the city of San Jose-good for a day tour trip, but not safe enough to stay there. I would suggest one or two day trips to see the city only if you have more than a two week trip planned. There are too many beautiful places to see on your first visit. Basing here at our home, you can spend more than 8 to 10 days just touring & enjoying many towns & places within an hour of our location. We need no A/C here over 4,500 ‘ and suggest some warm clothing for our cool & gorgeous nights. Enjoy cocktails & spectacular sunsets on our Upper Deck Lounge and the 360 splendid city night lights of the entire San Jose Valley. We have traveled Costa Rica since 1997 & owning two home for 9 years. We would love to help you plan your vacation & offer a lot of hard earned advice.
