Newly modernised large home in the beautiful, historic city of St. Albans only 20 mins by frequent train to the centre of London!

Our neighbourhood in St Albans, although within walking distance of the city centre, is very quiet and private, with the house and garden large enough for family dinners together or to spread out and find a quiet spot to relax by yourself. Within a five minute walk of the house are a couple of pubs, several restaurants, grocery shops and newsagents. If you decide you don't want to walk very far there is a convenient and frequent public transport service which can take you into St Albans, or the railway station for trips into London or further afield. If you are driving we are only a short distance from the main M25 and M1 motorways.

Our house is a large 5 bedroom, 3 bathroom home with lots of space and a large very private garden in the historic but vibrant cathedral City of St Albans just on the outskirts of London. It has been occupied since Romans times, and has many remains from that period to explore, including a Roman amphitheatre! St Albans also has a very large and active cathedral, several museums, many old historic streets packed with specialist shops, markets, pubs, cafés and restaurants. There is also beautiful 100 acre park with lake in the centre of the city. There is also a large and very popular market in the centre of town every Wednesday and Saturday, selling everything from cheese, vegetables, bread to clothes and gifts.

There is a very regular and fast train service into London ( takes 20 minutes, running every 15 minutes) for days out with all that London has to offer!

About the location

Within a 100km drive are the University towns of Cambridge and Oxford, Windsor (the Queens country retreat), zoo's and theme parks (Thorpe Park, Chessington World of Adventure, Whipsnade and Woburn) as well as many famous sporting locations, from football (Arsenal and QPR) to cricket (Lords). Around the city (which is really a town, only called a city because it has a cathedral) there are many beautiful walks in the Hertfordshire countryside, several taking you past and through large grand country houses and their estates with pubs along the way for refreshments and food breaks.
