About the location

Eastbourne is the UK town with most recorded hours of sunshine. Perfect location in East Sussex. The best of all worlds - the seaside, London, Brighton, the East Sussex countryside, the Seven Sisters Country Park, chalk cliffs, South Downs National Park, Devonshire Park international tennis arens etc.

The house itself, is ten minutes walk from the railway station with regular, direct trains to and from London Gatwick Airport (57 mins). London Victoria (90 mins) and Brighton (30 mins). The Thameslink also serves Brighton on weekdays.
There is also a Coaster bus service, that takes the beautiful scenic coastal route between Eastbourne and Brighton, through smaller towns and villages.
The bus terminus with excellent links to the surrounding area, is also only ten minutes walk away. There are various bus tickets/passes aimed at tourists, which give reduced fares.

There are plenty of beautiful walks in the south east of England- seafront or countryside. There are several golf courses in the area, cycle paths, sea fishing, restaurants, theatres, cinema, concerts etc. Cycles and fishing rods can be hired locally.
There are open air concerts at the bandstand on the beach, throughout the summer. The coastal breezes give good conditions for wind surfing and kiting from the local hills.

Many historical landmarks are to be found in the area - Hastings (1066 and all that...) castles, churches, cathedrals etc.
