Stunning Cotswold location in English countryside

Idling is within a short walk to open countryside and numerous footpaths, including the beautiful Fairford Park Estate, as well as the historic market town of Fairford. The house has been recently renovated and is well located within a quaint town on a quiet, non-estate, cul-de-sac.

The River Coln runs through Fairford and is about 8 miles west of Cirencester, an historic Roman town and the Capital of the Cotswolds. Historic churches, a playground, a bank, a post office, restaurants, public houses, a coffee shop, a butchers, and grocery stores are all within a short walk from the house.

A short ride away is the Cotswold Water Park with cycling paths, bird watching and water sports. The neighbouring villages have many highly rated, cosy gastro pubs as well as fishing spots and equestrian facilities. The quiet country lanes are ideal for cyclists as well.

You can easily day trip to Bath, Stonehenge, Avebury, Bristol, Gloucester, Stratford-upon-Avon, Windsor, Cheltenham, Marlborough, Chipping Norton, the Slaughters, Stow-on-the-Wold, and Oxford plus many more towns and quaint Cotswold villages. It is approximately a 1.5-hour drive from London Heathrow airport and there are also nearby bus and train links into central London.

We love to cook and have a brand-new, well-equipped kitchen with two full-sized ovens, a dishwasher, a washing machine, a microwave, a kettle, a toaster, wine cooler, etc. In addition, there is a dryer and large freezer on the first floor as well as a clothes-drying line in the back garden. Accommodation is arranged over three floors with three generously sized bedrooms, one box room, a family bathroom and a downstairs WC. The master bedroom has a large king-sized bed, the first bedroom has a twin bed with a second pullout, trundle-style bed, and the second bedroom can be equipped with a twin bed upon request. The box room currently houses a small home office. There is also a working open fire in the living room and a sunny conservatory on the ground floor.

In the garden, there is a charcoal BBQ, table and chairs, and bicycles to borrow. In season, you can help yourself to any fruit or vegetables growing in the garden if you don’t mind watering them on occasion! The rear garden is a courtyard garden and very secure for pets or children - with a 5.5-foot solid wooden fencing and a secure lockable gate. There is off-road, designated parking for one car across the road from the house.

We have two dogs with whom we like to travel and our home is pet-friendly to your well-behaved animals. We do not have children but are happy to have them stay as guests. We do ask that guests do not ever smoke in the house.

When traveling within Europe, we like to travel with our two rescue dogs so pet-friendly swaps are a plus. We speak English, French and Spanish if it is easier for you to communicate in any of those languages. We are non-smokers and need a Wifi connection for work purposes.
