A peaceful base for exploring London and the South of England

Situated in a quiet suburb only half an hour from central London, this five bedroom house has beds for five people and can accommodate two more using the sofa bed. On the ground floor there is a spacious kitchen with all equipment needed for cooking (cooker, microwave, steamer, food processor) and a dining/ living room with a table which can seat 8, a TV and armchairs. There are four bedrooms, a bathroom and a shower room upstairs. All the bedrooms are good sizes: the main bedroom has a double bed, the guest room has a sofa bed which sleeps two; on the top floor are two more bedrooms one with a single bed, the other with bunk beds.

About the location

Our house is ideal if you want to see the sights of London but also have some time away from the hustle and bustle, especially if you're travelling with children, who need some 'down time' at the end of the day to watch TV or play in the garden. We live five minutes from the centre of West Norwood from where you can take a bus to Waterloo or Victoria in 30 minutes, or you can be in Brixton in 10 minutes where you can pick up the underground. There are also overground trains to Victoria and London Bridge from where you can get the underground or buses.
There are some historic areas nearby: Crystal Palace is 10 minutes by bus, where you can visit the park and see the life size model dinosaurs.
West Norwood has several supermarkets which provide everything you need to cook.
There is also an indoor swimming pool and playground 5 minutes from the house.
The south of England is also easily reached by train - coastal towns such as Brighton, which is only a short journey, as well as many historic places such as Broadstairs.
