Kendal is a wonderful historic market town situated two miles south of the Lake District National Park with its beautiful mountains and lakes and fantastic cultural visitor attractions including Beatrix Potter's home at Sawrey and William Wordsworth's home at Grasmere
We are a 20 minute drive to lake Windermere; 30 minutes from Ambleside and about 50 minutes from Keswick.
From our home it is a 15 minute walk to the west coast mainline train service serving Edinburgh to London. There are a variety local walks starting from our doorstep along a former a canal and the River Kent.
Local amenities such as shops, restaurants, cinema, theatre, museums and art galleries leisure centre, doctors surgery and hospital are all within a 10-30 minute walk. You can walk to the bustling centre of Kendal (about I mile from house) or travel by bus or drive and park.
