Quiet and lovely apartment - Oslo

The apartment is cosy and comfortable.
The flat has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom, a very spacious living room with a dining area. The master bedroom has twin beds. The second bedroom has a single bed. If necessary, an extra bed can be provided. There will be a brand new balcony in a sunny and spacious backyard.

The location is very central at Frogner, just behind the Royal Palace. A short walk will bring you to the airport train stations, subway, trams and buses, and the city central is about 1 minutes walk from the apartment. Two minutes from the apartment you find restaurants, a movie theatre, coffee shops and several supermarkets.
It's a wonderful place to explore Oslo from. Vigelandsparken is five minutes walk away, the Royal Palace park three minutes away, and

There is cable-TV and a DVD Player, and lots of DVD's if the TV programmes are boring.There's a washing machine, but no dryer.

About the location

Frogner is the most popular area in Oslo, and might be compared to Chelsey in London. (http://en.wikipedia.org Frogner is located close to all main cultural attraction such as the National Theater, National Museum, Oslo City Historical Museum. Also the Opera is about two km from the apartment, about 15 minutes walk.
There are supermarkets, and coffee shops in close proximity to the apartment.

Close to the apartment (about 5 minutes walk) you´ll find Frognerparken (called so by the locals), or Vigeland Park/the Sculpture Park (http://en.wikipedia.org famous for its sculptures by Gustav Vigeland. In the park there are beautiful cafeterias, walking and recreation areas, centered around fountains and a beautiful pond. There's also an outdoor swimming pool with a waterslide, if that should be of interest.

If you like hiking and biking, it's quick train trip up to Holmekollen where you'll find the ski museum and the huge ski jump. Surrounding Holmenkollen is a fantastic nature area called Marka with marked trails and woods that goes on forever.

The apartment is also close to the fjord, and a bus will only take about ten minutes to bring you to Bygdøy Island where you can walk or cycle close to the ocean, go swimming or visit museums – or all of it. Bygdøy is about a 20 minutes walk from the apartment. June are the beginning of the bathing season in Oslo, and you will find lovely small beaches at Huk and around Bygdøy. On Bygdøy there's a huge outdoor museum filled with historical buildings from all over Norway, and next door the famous viking ships Oseberg and Gokstad, five minutes away is Thor Heyerdahls ship Fram and the Nautical museum. From May there is a ferry bringing you from the museum to the Aker Brygge Pier, Oslo City Hall, and of course, it will give you a great view of the Akerhus fortress from the sea.

Any kind of water sport should be available. Also at this time there's lots of cultural activities going on; there's the outdoor opera at Oscarsborg (a small island in the Oslo fjord), the new Opera is open, the theatres and museums are within walking distance to the apartment, and so is the Tube service to the mountains surrounding Oslo.
