Lennox Head Beachhouse

Ideally located for a carefree relaxed holiday for couples or family, right at the beach in cruisey Lennox Head.

Our home is a 2 story townhouse in a small complex of just 3. We swapped the oversized family home in a nearby development for this perfectly situated home on the beach and a short stroll to the numerous cafes restaurants and entertainments in the village.

Level 1

Downstairs house has 2 double bedrooms with double beds, family room with TV DVD and Wii. There's also a huge collection of DVDs to keep kids entertained away from adults upstairs.. Also downstairs is separate toilet and bathroom and laundry with washing machine and dryer. Outside is a private courtyard with water feature, BBQ and storage for surfboards (you are welcome to borrow).

Level 2

Upstairs is master bedroom with queen bed and ensuite and private deck. We found the deck a useful escape from the kids when they were young and living at home. Dining room with table for 8 (extendable to 10) and lounge with Smart TV Netflix DVD and access to large deck with outdoor dining and BBQ facilities. Kitchen has all the usual facilities - fan forced electric oven, 4 burner stove, microwave, family sized fridge/freezer, coffee machine blenders and all the usual gadgets that you would use in a regular home.

Property has ADSL2+ high speed wifi with unlimited download. Works fine upstairs and down.

External shower ideal for washing off after a dip in the ocean just metres away. Garage with access to rear lane.

All windows and doors have security grills/insect screening (with 2 daughters and being only 50 metres from the pub we thought that was a smart move - but probably overkill). Home is insulated, northern glass tinted and ceiling fans in all living/bedrooms, making this a comfortable home all year 'round.

NB No smoking inside please. Property not baby-proof and would not suit small children.

About the location

Idylic beachside area with fantastic surfing within a stone's throw, yet only 15-20 minutes drive from the attractions of Byron Bay and less than an hour to the Gold Coast and its shopping and theme parks.

Transport In. International flights to Gold Coast (55 minutes away by road) or Brisbane (about 2 hours 20 mins away) or Sydney/Melbourne then connect to Ballina-Byron.

Beaches, beaches everywhere. No less than a dozen quality surf breaks within just a few minutes. Closest is less than one minute on foot. Yes, you can carry a surfboard from our place to the beach and be IN the water with it in way less than a minute. The excited kids might do it in less than 30 seconds.

Closest surf school - about 100 metres (but they do move around to where the best/safest surf is on the day).

Safe swimming - patrolled beach at surf club few hundred metres north or 'Boat Channel' same distance south (not patrolled, but not usually quite safe with adult supervision). Lake Ainsworth - freshwater tea tree lake 50 metres inland from surf club.

Fishing Spots: Closest - less than a minute away, plus other beach fishing, rock fishing (take care) and river/ocean fishing also available with local permit.

Golf: 3 golf courses in under 20 minutes drive. 2 x 18 hole course in Ballina (if you fly in to Ballina-Byron airport you just flew over it) in less than 10 minutes, plus 18 hole Byron club perhaps 15 mins by road. Teven golf course - 9 holes, but known locally as the 'Prettiest Little Golf Course around' - which is an accurate description. About 15 mins by road towards Lismore (inland)

SCUBA/Sea Kayaking. Both available in Byron Bay.

Hang gliding/paragliding - at Lennox Point subject to weather (obviously)

Waterways. This area abounds in waterways. Many activities like Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP), kayaking, whale watching and similar right here or nearby.

Bushwalking and National Parks. This is a major past-time in the area. Numerous walks closeby and visits to/camp in local national parks possible. We have camping gear you can borrow.

Yoga/Pilates. Numerous yoga classes in our village or in Ballina/Byron Bay. Gym within walking distance and a number of personal trainers ready to help you work off the restaurant food you can consume here.
