Chevening

Our home is in Central London – NW6. Built in 1910 it has many original features but is modern, comfortable and a real home, with open fires and an Aga in the large kitchen. It has four bedrooms sleeping a total of 7 with the opportunity of using the TV room as an extra double sleep space on a double pullout sofa, as there is also a second living room downstairs. There are two bathrooms, one with bath and toilet and the other with a downstairs separate shower and toilet. Our large garden, for London that is, has BBQ and seating area with an array of plants and trees – an added bonus after a day out sightseeing.

About the location

Queens Park and Kensal Rise stations have either the over ground trains, which will take you directly into Westfield Shopping Centre, Kew Gardens and Richmond on Thames, or the underground network. There is a plethora of red buses at the top of the road that will take you into Oxford Street in 25 minutes or to Paddington, Victoria, Knightsbridge and beyond. Buckingham Palace and Piccadilly are both on these routes with Portobello Road and Notting Hill just a few minutes away. We have a beautiful local park with café, tennis courts, miniature golf and even a children’s paddling pool – great for jogging with Cillian Murphy or the other media celebrities that live close by. There are many trendy small shops, cafes and restaurants, not to mention pubs, in Chamberlayne and Salusbury Road – all very cosmopolitan. We even have our own local independent cinema, The Lexi. Plus of course a local Tesco which is open all hours should you run out of tea bags.
