Lot 70 South Terrace Penneshaw

Architect-designed brick house of the 1970's overlooking the sea between the mainland of Australia and Kangaroo Island. It is set in a third of an acre of edible garden next to the Baudin National Park, at the eastern end of the town of Penneshaw (pop. 300) where the ferry to Cape Jervis on the mainland arrives and departs.

About the location

Kangaroo Island is Australia's third biggest island, 150 km (93 mi) long and between 90 km (56 mi) and 57 km (35 mi) wide, its area covering 4,405 km2 (1,701 sq mi). Its coastline is 540 kilometres (340 mi) long. Nearly half of the island has never been cleared of vegetation,[33] and a quarter of it is conserved in National Parks, Conservation Parks, and five Wilderness Protection Areas. The winters between June and September are mild and wet, the summers usually warm and dry. Tempered by the ocean, particularly on the coastline, maximum temperatures in summer rarely exceed 35 degrees Celsius. Average temperatures in August range between 13 to 16 degrees and in February, the hottest month, between 20 and 25 degrees.
