Hythe Cinque Port, linked detached bungalow with garden. 5 mins walk from the sea. 50 mins train ride to London.

Our home forms part of a large converted Edwardian house less than 5 mins walk from the sea front and the Royal Military canal. The lounge was originally a billiard room for the main house and has a beautiful picture window that looks at towards the sea. The garden is of a good size with a small pond, seating and barbecue area. There is one double and one single bedroom, a kitchen and bathroom, all of modest dimensions. We share a drive but have a private garden, entrance and parking.
Two cars easily fit into the semi-circular private driveway and there is an undercroft for bike storage. We have 2 kayaks which you are welcome to borrow for use on the canal.
There is an outside utility room (originally a bomb shelter) where we keep the freezer and washing machine (no dryer - that's what the wind is for!), and which houses an additional toilet and secure bike storage.
The garden has a grassed area, some lovely palms, grape vines and even an immature banana tree. We have a small pond with one large and many small koi. There is a seating area and a barbecue area for fine weather.
The mainline high-speed service to London is a short drive away, with hourly trains to Kings Cross- St Pancras taking only 50mins.
We are children of the 60's as some of the decor makes evident (namely the murals in the living room). We have wifi and a sound system, and lots and lots of books.

About the location

It is a quiet location, although the Folkestone-Hythe road is at the bottom of the drive. The Royal Military canal is less than 5 mins walk, as is the sea front. Both offer beautiful and extended walking opportunities. The promenade walk goes in both directions with a 15-20 min walk (5 min bike/bus ride) to Hythe in one direction, and in the other, via Sandgate to Folkestone (45 mins). Hythe is a quiet town with one long main street offering cafes and a range of small shops. Folkestone is larger and offers a range of art galleries and a working harbour. A short drive past Folkestone is Dover and magnificent walks over the white cliffs to St Mary's Bay and Deal. In the other direction there is Romney marsh and the baron beauty of Dungeness with long expanses of pebbled beach and dune. An ideal place for walking, cycling, fishing, golfing, swimming or just pootling about on the seafront.
There is a high speed train link from Folkestone West station, which is just 10 mins car ride away, with a 50min direct line to Kings Cross/St Pancras once or twice an hour.
